Da block is a group made of two brothers tech (Sergio Rosales) and two much (Josue Rosales) raised in the streets of west los angeles they had to endure a lot of negativity because of where they resided. Older brother tech was the first one to start rapping being influence by his friends who used to pressure him to battle rap other mc’s just for fun. Tech kept practicing till i got easy for him to battle anyone and it was not for fun any more, younger brother two much started seeing older brother tech practicing at the house so much that he started getting into it himself. Tech an two much are so much of competitors that they started battling against each other every day at their house just to practice and see who was the best but you could be the judge of that. Tech and two much moved out of Los Angeles to the city of Whittier where they met new friends new surrounding and had a favorite hangout spot. The name da block came about because that was everyones favorite hangout spot and when tech and two much decided to get serious with there rapping career it was easy for them to name the group. Da block started getting serious in 2003 making songs in a home made studio that a friend had made but that was cut short do to transportation and not having the right equipment to really put the songs out. Da block did no stop doing what they loved so they started performing infront of friends at party’s just to keep active and they finally got a break when they where offer free studio time. Tech and two much finally got the chance they where waiting for so they recorded their first mixtape songs hitting the streets hard. The songs made such an impact that they where being contacted by many promoters wanting them to perform. Da block has been hitting the streets hard now with a street team behind them, they are stronger than ever going on tours, being booked for the whole 2007 year, and performing with big names. Kush, Henny and Coke is the name of their first mixtape. There has been a lot of tension between black and brown in the community lately but through this music da block is trying to burn down barriers to prove that we can work together as one. In 2009 da block got their big break when they got a call from hot dollar and guerilla black to join dollar figga and it been a blessing for them to have more doors open for them after they join this label. Da block will be releasing a lot of mixtapes and albums so hopefully they will come to a city near u..

Originally, Eazy-E’s intentions on signing Brownside to Ruthless Records was to create a Chicano version of the critically acclaimed rap group N.W.A. Toker had attended high school in Compton, CA where he later met Eazy-E, and the two developed a great friendship until Eazy-E’s untimely death in 1995. It is said that towards the end of Eazy’s life he was attracted to Chicano rap in California and saw this as a new market to break into.
Brownside is a Chicano Hip-Hop group founded in 1994 by the late Eazy-E. The group originally consisted of rappers Toker (Gilbert Izquierdo), Wicked (Pierre Lamas), Lil Danger (Heder Hernandez Jr.) and Danger (Angel Hernandez), who was shot dead in 1997 from a drive-by. Brownside was one of the most promising Latin Hip-Hop groups coming straight out of Los Angeles. Brownside’s line-up included members Toker, Danger and Wicked. In 1994, they were signed to Eazy’s Ruthless Records and released only one single entitled Gang Related. However, they did record one [known] track with Eric entitled Eastside Drama which was not released at that time. After Eric died on 26 March 1995, Brownside, among many of their label mates, was dropped from the label.

Their debut album Eastside Drama, released early 1997, was recorded at the G-Spot Studio and featured a Chicano version of Eazy-E’s Boyz n the Hood called Vatos In The Varrio. Brownside’s main image was that they aren’t ‘rappers trying to be gangbangers’, they are ‘gangbangers trying to be rappers’ Toker stated on a live interview with Julio G from radiostation KBRN. Their greatest hardship came in 1997 when member Danger was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in South Central L.A., CA. As a result of the shooting, Brownside’s Toker and Wicked had to make their 1997 LP Eastside Drama without Danger. The first single off of that LP was Life On The Streets. The dedication song on the album entitled Rest In Piece AKA Firme Memories, samples The Temprees’s Love (Between A Boy and Girl) Can Be So Wonderful. This sample was also used by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on track 10 of disc 1 of The Art Of War released the same year.

In 2002, they released Payback which contains tracks which sound like they were recorded in 1994 whilst still on Ruthless. In 2006, they released The Takeover, and in 2008 they released 13 Reasons AKA Trece Razones.

Brownside has been known to use Sureño slang in their lyrics, as well as album covers. Brownside has collaborated with numerous West Coast artists such as Dirty Red, Slow Pain, Mr. Gee, and Lil’ Rob.

Now we’ve done so many I can’t count! God definitely brought me here for a reason”… and it’s definitely no coincidence that she ended up at the largest and most established independent Latin rap label. DFO Music Group, headed by Jaime “Pain” Ortiz, was the production team that helped get Carolyn to that window of opportunity with SPM. “When Pain said ‘he wants to hear you sing and try you out on a hook’, I was wondering if he would even like my voice. After the first one he told me ‘I want you on ALL my hooks. You got that gangsta soul”. After sealing a strong partnership with SPM and Juan Gotti on numerous songs, DFO was ready to sprinkle Carolyn Rodriguez on everyone’s album. The Latin Urban music scene is about to embrace a new face with a new sound. Carolyn Rodriguez released her first solo album “Castellana” September 24, 2007 through DFO Music Group and it is distributed by Select-O-Hits. Jaime “Pain” Ortiz, its CEO (and Dope House Records’ chief engineer), produced half of the tracks on her album as well as engineer it. His resume also includes Latin Grammy and Billboard nominations, Grammy awards, and a seat on the prestigious Producers and Engineers Committee of the National Grammies. Carolyn’s mixed bilingual roots set the stage for a new genre of Latin Hip-Hop and R&B. Her solo album “Castellana” gave fans what they have been waiting for, a full disc of her own songs to complete their collection. The album is clean, yet street; gangsta, yet pop; it’s filled with Spanish and English club bangers and ballads, as well as pure Hip-Hop and R&B jams that remind you of her street credibility. The album features her fellow Dope House family members such as Juan Gotti, Low-G, Quota, and Shadow Ramirez. Besides the many tracks produced by Jaime “Pain” Ortiz, other producers grace her album such as Mario “Andretti” Ayala (credits include Missy Elliott and Baby Bash), Demon of 24/7 Hustlas, Tiger, Slip, and R.O.B. Spanish and English urban music lovers alike will enjoy “Castellana”, as every song packs a different punch guaranteed to leave fans wanting more. SPM’s “The Last Chair Violinist” is about to be released Sep.16 of this year, which will feature more of her recent work with him. “Man, I’m doin all KINDS of crazy stuff on this album; verses, hooks, singin, rappin, even a skit with different characters I do…I’ve NEVER worked with such an artist as Carlos Coy!” So you know what that means; her 2nd solo album will have much more of him on it as well, which she is currently working on.

Eager to pursue greater challenges and business ventures, Doll-E Girl created her own record label, “Set-Up Shop Productions”. Doll-E Girl’s label has already released three albums nationwide. Continuing to remain focused with the success of her solo career as well as her record label, Doll-E Girl released her second solo album, “I Got Your Back” in late 2006. The success of this album has launched her career even further, gaining her nationwide radio play with her hit single “Do It Daddy” featuring Arista recording artist Baby Bash. Every track on this album was produced by Fingazz and features Baby Bash, Slow Pain, Roscoe, and Don Cisco. Doll-E Girl’s performance has been elevated to new heights with Fingazz at the controls. Doll-E Girl has continued to perfect her skills by performing with many of today’s heavy hitters such as T- Pain, Too Short, Lloyd, MIMS, Omarion, Bobby Valentino, Baby Boy Da Prince, David Banner, Rob Base, Lil Rob, Mr. Capone-e, MC Magic, and Brown Boy just to name a few. Major labels are continuing to negotiate deals and are definitely keeping an eye on her. With Doll-E Girl’s track record, she is certainly the next big success story!

In August 2007, Lady Synful debuted her latest single “BLVD Nights” through Clear Channel Media’s New Music Discover Site. Since then, she has received over 2 million plays and is currently the Number 2 most played artist in both the Urban and Hits genre’s. In late 2008, Lady Synful released a new compilation album, “Lady Synful Presents: The Resurrection Mixtape”. The Resurrection album brought together for the first time ever, three of the top Latin female Hip-Hop artists on one entire album (Lady Synful, J.V. & Doll-e Girl). The album also marked the return of the top selling general market, Latin female Rap artist to date, J.V. (Soundscan). In January 2009, Lady Synful made her first International tour of Japan. Coverage of the concert tour was featured in the April 2009 Japan Lowrider Magazine, Issue No. 91. Look for Lady Synful’s new single “Ladies Night” hitting airwaves Fall 2009, from her forthcoming album. Produced by Super Producer Fingazz, the single will also feature Diamonique, Doll-e Girl, Cecy B, Pearl and of course Fingazz. Synful’s tight rap style, flows with ease and stands up to anyone in the Hip-Hop genre.
