October 22nd, 2008

5 / 5 (6 Votes)

“TWELVE EIGHTEEN PT.2” That's the name of the new most anticipated Lil Rob album coming out October 21st 2008. It has 16 street banging tracks. Lil Rob has been in and out of the studio for the past 3 years recording tracks, re-recording tracks, throwing out tracks, finessing and fine tuning, to make sure his fans get exactly what they expect from him. Nothing but the best feel good music. When at home (SAN DIEGO) he'll head over to Streetlight Studios and hook up with the homie Fingazz. If not at Streetlight Lil Rob will drive up to Inglewood and hook up a track with the homie Bionik, whos featured on an array of tracks on the new album. When in Houston home to LilRob's Record Label Upstairs Records he'll hook up with producer Moox and work on some more tracks.

“Bring it Back” the song that kicks off the album and one of my personal favorites has a kick back chicano gangster flow over a kick back west coast beat produced by Fingazz. “BROWNSIDE” is another one of my favorites letting people know that there's a brownside of town in every city. “Lets Go” and “Leaning on the Weekend” are a couple of good jams to cruise to. “Bang to the Boogie (the boogie song)”” Stick Up” and “Do It” are a few jams that they might want to bump in the club. “I'm Gone” is a song talking about going out of my mind and going a lil loco rapping over another oldie beat. “Let Me Come Back” is a personal song apologizing to my girl for disrespecting her. “Cortez shoes” is the jam about growing up and some of the things I've done and been through. The real 1218 pt.2 has a comic book on the inside with the story line from “Slow it Down”(featuring Frankie J

Lil Rob debuted as an artist in 1997, selling as many as 200,000 units for each independent CD he recorded. The number Twelve Eighteen, which is tattooed on Lil Rob's arms, represent the numeric value of the letters L and R, respectively, which are Lil Rob's initials. The number was used by Lil Rob during his days as a graffiti tagger. In 1994 at the age of 18, Lil Rob's chin was shattered when he was shot in the jaw. Banging and shootings were part of Roberto's life. Realizing how dangerous it was. He then quit his gang afffliation and started representing "Brown Pride". In 2005, he found commercial success with the release of Twelve Eighteen, Pt. 1, which had been in regular rotation on radio stations outside of the West Coast due to the singles "Summer Nights", and "Bring Out The Freak In You". This type of thematic diversity helped earn Lil Rob gain a legion of dedicated fans who appreciate his earnest approach to song writing. "I'm not trying to be something I'm not," Lil Rob says. "I tell it like it is, with "Crazy life" I got a little crazy, with "Natural high" I grew up a little bit. With this one I've grown up even more. I've got more skills and I'm just the homeboy next door doing the same things that everyone else does."

With a string of underground classics, a nation of fans and a new deal with Upstairs Records to support him, Lil Rob is ready to build upon his already sizable fan base with his most thorough release to date "Lil Rob." Rob knows that fans will appreciate his new sounds
